The town of Përmet marked the 179th anniversary of Albania’s national poet, Naim Frashëri, with the traditional “Naimian Days.” The Frashëri Brothers’ Museum House became the focal point of cultural activities, including a national conference dedicated to the extraordinary legacy of Abdyl, Naim, and Sami Frashëri, three pillars of the Albanian national identity.

Historian Paskal Milo offered a philosophical reflection, drawing parallels between Sami Frashëri’s Renaissance thought and modern world literature.

“It’s essential to refresh our national memory. From this place came some of the great minds of the National Awakening, visionaries of the Albania we know today,” he said.

Ethem Ruka, President of the Albanian Academy of Arts and Sciences, pledged to support recognition of Frashëri as a national center of cultural pilgrimage and a destination of natural, historical, and intellectual value.

Bektashi leader Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj honored the brothers’ enduring legacy:

“We are grateful in every era because their values and work are brilliant. They have inspired us to do good, for the nation, for humanity, and for our homeland”.

Historian Kastriot Bezati emphasized the importance of the Frashëri National Assemblies as milestones in shaping national consciousness. He described Abdyl as the architect of Albania’s first modern state, and Naim as a teacher of both the people and the national spirit.

The Frashëri brothers remain a source of national pride, a trio whose legacy unites Albania’s history, culture, and literature in lasting significance.
