The National Library marked International Translation Day with a memorial exhibition dedicated to translator Petro Zheji. The exhibition also coincides with the tenth anniversary of his passing.

The memorial, opened at the “Sotir Kolea” Center, displays his most notable translations. It highlights his lasting philological contribution. Translator and linguist Petro Zheji died in 2015 at the age of 85. He was born in Tirana in October 1929 and showed an early talent for foreign languages.

Zheji mastered Italian, French, Spanish, English, German, Russian, Hebrew, Ancient Greek, Latin, and Sanskrit.
