An exhibition of photos of the Paleochristian Basilica of the city of Elbasan was opened on the eve of the New Year holidays, with photos that reflect the work done over the years, photos of mosaics, frescoes, architectural elements, etc. This exhibition was realized thanks to the cooperation with QTK (Ethnographic Museum) of Elbasan municipality, Institute of Archeology in Tirana and DRTK Korçë-Elbasan Sector.

The exhibition in the premises of the Ethnographic Museum will remain open until December 31.

Meanwhile, the students of the Tourist Operator-Geography branch of the university “A. Xhuvani” held classes in the Paleochristian Basilica extra muros in the center of the city of Elbasan. They were introduced to the history of the discovery of the basilica since 2007, as well as the works over the years that have been done on this monument. Also, , explanations were given by the specialists of Regional Directory of Cultural Heritage of Korca – Elbasan  regarding what has been discovered so far, the ways of protecting the mosaics and frescoes, as well as the systematic work that is done every day to maintain it.

During this visit, the students also had the opportunity to see the exhibition of the basilica.
