PM Rama at the Bled Forum: Albanian Foreign Policy Aligned with EU

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the 20th Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia today. The forum is one of Europe’s main diplomatic gatherings. He joined the leaders’ panel to discuss the role of states and the future of the European Union.
PM Rama said Albania’s foreign policy is fully aligned with the EU. He stressed that the country’s loyalty to the Union has never been in doubt. He added that Albania has stayed on course despite its size and ongoing challenges.
According to him, Europe’s main problem lies in the way the state is seen. He said governments are often viewed only as budget spenders. He urged ministries and institutions to act more like entrepreneurs. PM Rama called for direct partnerships between the state and the private sector.
He also warned that debt and public spending alone cannot deliver growth. He argued that cooperation between state structures and entrepreneurs creates more value. Such value, he said, serves both private interests and the public good.
The Bled Forum takes place on 1–2 September. It gathers more than three thousand participants from Europe and beyond.
