Pm Rama in Kosovo: Very soon we will remove custom tariffs in the border

Very soon for all products coming from Kosovo to Albania will no longer have customs tariffs. The only exception will be the scan at customs, where according to Prime Minister Rama this is a process inherited from the past and can not be removed.

During an inspection at the flour and wheat factory in Xërxë, Kosovo, Rama said that Albania could not lift customs tariffs with the Open Balkans and not with Kosovo. He said that this will happen very soon, while expressing the desire that this start be bilateral from Kosovo, which has asked for more time for such a decision.

“Let us not remain only in the framework of the official political meeting, but also with what are the engine that moves society and economic life. Thanks for the reception. Together with the Minister we were talking about increasing cooperation and melting border barriers. We have made a plan and will set it in motion to remove all customs tariffs with Kosovo. We will remove them completely. We want to be bilateral with the government of Kosovo, but we will do it. They have asked for more time to analyze it, but we will remove it. It does not make sense to remove them with the Open Balkans and not with Kosovo. We will remove everything that will come from Kosovo, except only the scan because we have nothing to do because it is inherited, while the rest will no longer have fees “, said Rama.

Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Kosovo, where on June 20 will be held the 8th joint meeting between the two governments, that of Albania and that of Kosovo to be held in Prishtina. Several intergovernmental agreements are expected to be signed during the meeting
