In a message on social media, President Begaj stressed that “political and institutional cooperation is a necessity, which I hope will continue in the interest of Kosova and its citizens”.

The Assembly of Kosova elected Dimal Basha, a MP from Vetëvendosje, as its new Speaker.

In its 58th attempt to convene, the Assembly approved Vetëvendosje’s proposal with 73 votes in favor, 30 against, and 3 abstentions.

Basha secured the required votes with support from part of PDK, AAK, and some minority deputies. LDK and Serb List voted against.

Following a Constitutional Court ruling that resolved the deadlock, MPs confirmed Basha in the fourth session held on the matter.
