President Ilir Meta, gave a message from North Macedonia, where he is paying an official visit, on the issue of the borders of the Balkans. President Ilir Meta emphasizes that there can be no solution for the region by redrawing the borders, but only by respecting European values. Mr. Meta demands that the rights of all minorities be respected by everyone, in the right way and in respect of European standards.

“This would guarantee and consolidate peace, stability, security, strengthen interethnic coexistence and improve the business climate and confidence in the future,” says Meta.

“In our region, there are no big nations and small nations. In our region there should be European values, which are equally protected and respected by all. Revision of borders can not be a solution, because this issue has been tried, it has failed and it has been a catastrophe for the region.The only solution is to respect the rights of all minorities by everyone, in the right way and in respect of European standards.This would guarantee and consolidate peace, stability, security, strengthen interethnic coexistence and will improve the business climate and confidence in the future,” the president wrote on social media.
