President Osmani esteemed with the prestigious title of ‘Patron of the Castle,’ the highest honor in the city of Berat

During her state visit to Albania, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani visited the city of Berat, where Mayor Ervin Demo honored her with the title of ‘Patron of the Castle,’ the city’s highest award.
A well-organized ceremony took place, attended by members of the municipal council, President Osmani received the title. In her acceptance speech, she emphasized that the honor bestowed upon her by the city of Berat also comes with the responsibility of promoting the Castle and the rich heritage of Berat.
The title ‘Patron of the Castle’ carries significant responsibility. It signifies not only personal honor but a commitment to protecting our shared cultural heritage. Fortresses like the one in Berat are more than physical structures; they are traditions and sources of pride passed down through the centuries,” emphasized President Osmani.
Moreover, President Osmani pointed out that the Berat Castle is a UNESCO-protected world heritage site, serving as a testament to past generations.
President Osmani, during the title acceptance ceremony, mentioned that both Albania and Kosovo possess rich cultural heritages deserving of UNESCO recognition. She also expressed the intention for Kosovo to become a member of UNESCO, highlighting the value of Albania’s experience in this endeavor.
