President Vjosa Osmani met yesterday with the outgoing commander of KFOR Regional Command East, Colonel Jonathan Lloyd, and his successor, Colonel Sam Sargeant. Both officers serve with the Louisiana National Guard.

President Osmani thanked Colonel Lloyd for his service and dedication during his mandate in Kosovo, praising his contribution to strengthening security and stability in the country and the wider region. As a token of appreciation, she presented him with a certificate of gratitude.

According to an official statement, Osmani welcomed Colonel Sargeant and assured him of the full support of Kosovo’s institutions in fulfilling his mandate and the NATO-led KFOR mission.

On behalf of the people of Kosovo, President Osmani expressed deep gratitude for the continued presence of the United States Army as part of KFOR, calling it vital for peace, security, and stability in Kosovo and the region.

She emphasized that Kosovo will always remain grateful to the United States for its unwavering support at every stage of the country’s development.
