Prishtina hosts the “Manifesto, European Nomadic Biennale”

One of the most important cultural events in Europe, “Manifesto, European Nomadic Biennial”, this time is held in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina. From July 22 to October 30, over 100 participants from 30 countries unfold their artistic works with interventions in public spaces.
According to the organizers, after a four-year research, Pristina, a capital of the Western Balkans, was chosen to hold the manifesto, the 14th edition, which aims to become a catalyst for social change.
According to the director of this biennial, Hedwig Fijen, Manifesta is held for the first time in a Western Balkan country and this edition is based on several key themes.
The organizers of “Manifesto 14” said that they want to start a conversation with what should happen with the interventions carried out in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina, after the Biennale ends and what is the legacy that the Biennale leaves behind in terms of the transformation of public spaces of Pristina.
Higher authorities of Kosovo’s institutions, in addition to the cultural aspect, considered the holding of “Manifesto 14” in Pristina as a good opportunity to promote Kosovo and the values of its art.
The Biennial Manifesta, European Nomad, changes location every two years and usually chooses unexpected places to be host cities, in which there are ample locations for interventions with artistic performances. Prishtina offers such an environment.
