The second night of the Dyrrachium International Theater Festival welcomed the “Bekim Fehmiu” Theatre from Prizren at the Ancient Amphitheatre of Durres.

The Prizren artists performed the psychological drama “The Forest” by Florian Zeller, directed by Erson Zymberi.

The play explores deep psychological themes, including the boundary between truth and illusion, memory, guilt and identity. Through a tense narrative and dark atmosphere, the performance takes audiences on a journey where every memory, choice and silence can change the course of the truth.

Durres Mayor Emiriana Sako said the festival has brought artists, theatre companies and stories from different cultural backgrounds to the city. She added that the event has turned Durres into an important meeting point for contemporary theatre.

Six theatre companies from Albania, Türkiye, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania are taking part in the festival.

The festival opened with the drama “The Blind,” directed by Qendrim Rijani. The play tells the stories of 11 blind people who find themselves in an unknown environment with no way out. They embark on a spiritual journey through their fears, memories, past experiences and inner worlds.

At the end of the first edition, a jury made up of well-known Albanian stage and screen figures will announce the festival’s winners.
