A protest of local Serbs was held in Shtërpca. The protest in this municipality, inhabited by a majority of Serbs, was held following the wounding of two young Serbs, few days before.

According to the announcement, they were shot by suspects, who were in a moving passenger vehicle, which was traveling from Shtërpca in the direction of Ferizaj.

Regarding the case, the Kosova Police has identified and then arrested the 33-year-old suspect with the initials AK.

Kosova Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj said on January 6 that “a member of the Kosova Security Force was involved in the case that happened in Shtërpca” and that the security and justice authorities are dealing with the case.

On Sunday, a court session was held to determine the measure against alleged suspect.

Kosova President, Vjosa Osmani, and the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, reacted last Friday over the incident in Shtërpca.

Osmani considered the wounding of 11 and 21-year-old young ones in Shtërpca is an intolerable act and that the perpetrator should be brought to justice. While Kurti said that he is “deeply worried about their injury”.

Other international representatives have also condemned the incident.
