QKLL Awards National Literature Prizes

The National Center for Book and Reading (QKLL) held the ceremony for the National Literature Prizes today.
First, the Grand Literature Prize went to Eni Karafili for the novel “Epope intime” (Pegi Publishing). The jury said the work has “rare artistic power.” They added that it builds a rich literary vision on identity. Furthermore, it breaks taboos embedded in cultural codes. It also reflects the turbulent migratory movements of Albanians abroad.
Next, the Grand Translation Prize went to Romeo Çollaku for translating Aristotle’s “Rhetoric” (Albas Publishing). The jury praised the translation as masterful. They noted its precision and accurate terminology. Moreover, it preserves Aristotle’s argument structure, rhythm, and persuasive power. This work enriches philosophical discourse in Albanian.
Finally, the Grand Research Prize went to Anila Mullahi (Elezi) for “Krijimi letrar në proces” (Pegi Publishing). The jury explained that it is the first genetic study on Dritëro Agolli’s novels. They emphasized the deep research on manuscripts, letters, and diaries. Consequently, it lays a foundation for genetic criticism in Albanian literary studies.
The awards were given by a jury led by Besnik Mustafaj. Members included Dhurata Shehri, Elsa Skënderi Rakipllari, Maklena Nika, and Fatmira Nikolli. These prizes honor works published in 2024.
