Rama: Albania Must Meet All Expectations for 2027 NATO Summit

Prime Minister Edi Rama called the organization of the 2027 NATO Summit in Albania a historic and challenging moment.
Speaking at the three-day conference of Albanian ambassadors worldwide, Rama thanked the Albanian NATO team and all who helped secure the summit decision. He noted that hosting thousands of leaders from the EU, Europe, and America in Albania was almost unimaginable.
“Now, we must meet and exceed all expectations placed on Albania. This is our chance to shine on the world stage again,” Rama said.
He stressed the need for a nimble diplomatic service that serves as a reference for talented young Albanians. Rama highlighted the embassy in Brussels as a positive example of professionalism and teamwork.
Rama also emphasized strengthening Albania’s diplomatic work in the region. He urged maintaining and expanding communication with governments, institutions, and social actors. “We have major strategic interests and the duty to promote peace and stability across this part of Europe,” he said.
He added that nurturing relations with the Albanian diaspora in the region is key to projecting a positive and constructive image of Albania as a committed European nation and a dedicated partner in the democratic world.
