This week, Albania joined Jordan in co-chairing the major meeting of Balkan religious leaders. The event was part of the Aqaba Process.

During the event in Jordan, Prime Minister Edi Rama met King Abdullah II of Jordan.

In the podcast “Flasim,” Rama described King Abdullah II as a globally respected monarch, a valued friend of the Albanian people, and a personal friend.

“Ten years ago, we started the Aqaba Process together. It is an important initiative focused on fighting terrorism and violent extremism, under His Majesty’s special guidance. In the December meeting, Albania stood alongside Jordan, co-chairing the major table of Balkan religious leaders,” Rama said.

The Prime Minister added that leaders of Albania’s religious communities also attended. He announced that next year, Albania will host the meeting and expand it, together with His Majesty.
