Tirana, October 14 — Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated Kosova on its 1–0 victory against Sweden in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

In a social media post, he said the two national teams share one spirit and identity, writing: “Two eagles, two victories, one Albanian symbol. Go Kosova”.

Kosova achieved a historic away win. Fisnik Asllani scored the only goal in the first half after a quick attack that ended with a precise shot.

With this result, Kosova stands second in Group B with seven points from four matches. Switzerland leads with ten, Slovenia follows with three, and Sweden remains last with one.

The victory keeps Kosova’s World Cup hopes alive. The next qualifying matches will take place next month, when the team will aim to maintain its positive form.
