Rama meeting with the leaders of the Albanian parliamentary parties in North Macedonia, important issues are discussed

Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama held a meeting on Tuesday evening in Tirana with the heads of political parties in North Macedonia. Participants in the meeting were the chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Mehmeti, the leader of the Alliance for Albanians Party, Arben Tarvari, the leader of the Albanian Democratic Party, Menduh Thaçi and the leader of the Alternative Movement, Afrim Gashi, while Bilal Kasami, the leader of the Besa Movement arty, refused the meeting invitation, due to the internal political battle that his party has with Ali Ahmeti’s DUI.
According to the sources, the meeting focused on the internal political situation in North Macedonia, the role of the Albanian parties in this field, in this impasse situation in Macedonia, following of membership negotiations, since the Parliament of North Macedonia need to make some constitutional changes related to the progress with the European integration process.
Rama has also published on social network a photo from the the meeting with the leaders of the Albanian parties of North Macedonia, while attached he wishes a good year for Albanians wherever they are.
In July of last year, negotiations were opened for North Macedonia with a condition imposed by Bulgaria, which requires constitutional changes regarding the existence of the Bulgarian minority in North Macedonia and recognition of the Bulgarian language as an official language. Meanwhile, Bulgaria’s condition is expected to be voted on in the Macedonian parliament.
