Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at the international conference *“Albania, New Horizon”* in Vienna. He called northern Albania the country’s “true treasure” and a golden opportunity for long-term investment.

Rama said Albania is still seen mainly as a coastal country. But he stressed that the mountains are an undiscovered asset and the time to invest is now.

He announced concrete foreign investments in the north, including Austrian capital for the country’s first ski resort. The project marks a major step toward diversifying Albania’s tourism offer.

“When the mountains unlock, their true potential will be clear,” Rama said. “Those who invest now will gain more in the future. Albania is on its way to becoming the ‘Austria of the Mediterranean.’”

He urged foreign investors to explore opportunities in Albania’s northern mountains. The region remains largely untouched but holds exceptional natural and climatic potential.
