Regulatory Commission Certifies Final Result of May 11 General Elections

The Regulatory Commission announced today the final result of the elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, held on May 11, 2025.

The Commission voted article by article with 3 votes in favor and 2 against the draft decision of State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi to declare the final result.

During the meeting, the Commission approved the number of votes, the number of mandates, and the list of MPs for each electoral subject in every constituency.

In addition, the Commission approved the total number of votes, mandates, and deputies for each electoral subject nationwide.

Meanwhile, Commission members Muharrem Çakaj and Helga Vukaj voted against the certification.

Çakaj said: “I hoped SPAK would fight electoral crime. What happened? We have no punishment for electoral crime. Electoral crime existed, only the CEC and SPAK did not see it”.

Vukaj stated: “These elections were not free. They were far from standards. The results were not real, and we live in a regime. Under these conditions, I declare my vote against this result”.

Parties can appeal this decision to the Electoral Judicial College at the Administrative Court of Appeals in Tirana within 5 days of its announcement.

In the May 11 elections, the Socialist Party won 83 mandates. The Democratic Party–Alliance for a Great Albania won 50. The Social Democratic Party secured 3 MPs. The party “Possibility” won 2. Meanwhile, Movement Together and Initiative Albania Can be Made secured one mandate each.
