Reshat Arbana, one of the most prominent figures in Albanian cinema and theater, celebrates his 84th birthday today. On this special occasion, many notable personalities from the arts and public life in Albania have expressed their admiration and respect for the celebrated actor.

One particularly heartfelt message came from constitutionalist Shkëlqim Hajdari, who described Arbana as a true icon of the Albanian nation. “An Artist of the People and a National Honor—no one deserves these titles more than you. You have always been a proud representative of the Albanian people and nation,” Hajdari wrote.

Born on September 15, 1940, in Tirana, Reshat Arbana is known for his skillful performances and strong intellectual integrity, having brought to life numerous memorable roles both on stage and in film. His career began in 1963, with his first film appearance in “Fije që priten” (Tense Strings) in 1976. Some of his most notable roles include Samiu in “Fije që priten,” the Prefect in “Gjeneral gramafoni” (The General of the Gramophone), Isa Boletini in “Nëntori i dytë” (The Second November), and Kuke Memini in “Balada e Kurbinit” (The Ballad of Kurbin).

For his significant contributions to Albanian arts, Arbana has been awarded some of the highest honors, including the title “Artist of the People” and the prestigious “Honor of the Nation,” granted by President Bamir Topi in 2011.
