Academic Rexhep Meidani, member of the Albanian Academy of Sciences, received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Tetova.

The solemn ceremony took place on 17 December 2025, in the UT Amphitheater, marking the university’s 31st anniversary.

Meidani received the honor for his contributions to science, education, and public life.

The title, along with the university’s logo and flag, was presented by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli.

Rexhep Meidani was born on 17 August 1944. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in physics in Albania and France. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Albanian Academy of Sciences. He served as President of Albania from 1997 to 2002.

In addition to his academic and scientific work, Meidani has authored dozens of scientific, philosophical, and monographic books. He has also written essays and journalistic works. For many years, he taught at the University of Tetova.
