Hollywood legend Robert De Niro will star in a film partially shot in Kosovo. The movie focuses on the Kosovo War and the Reçak Massacre.

Producer Fitim Krasniqi said, “This film tells our story—our pain and the strength of our people.”

De Niro will play the role of Krasniqi’s father. The story draws from his father’s life and the real events of the Reçak Massacre.

The filmmakers will also cast other well-known international actors.

They will begin filming in Kosovo in 2026. The project has already drawn widespread positive attention. For the first time, a Hollywood star of De Niro’s stature will appear in a film directly tied to Kosovo’s history.
