A new Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH) and Radio Television of Kosova (RTK) in the wake of the deepening of cooperation between the two major public media in Republic of Albania and Kosova .
The memorandum was signed in Prishtina by the General Director of Albanian Radio and Television, Alfred Peza, and by his counterpart at RTK, Shkumbin Ahmetxhekaj.
The two leaders decided to create a joint office between RTSH and RTK in the premises of the RTK, which will serve for the exchange of program materials.
General Director of the RTSH, Mr. Peza, in his speech, appreciated the importance of the cooperation agreement between the two public broadcasters.
“The main thing is to create a joint office for uninterrupted cooperation with our colleagues in Prishtina, 24/7, for information exchange, programs and everything else in the interest of our two media, to inform the Albanian public to the best possible on both sides of the border,” said Mr. Peza.
While Mr. Ahmetxhekaj, the General Director of RTK, said that the Memorandum, in addition to the rationalization of expenses, brings the public of Kosova and Albania closer to each other and places both public broadcasters at each other’s service.
“So we will have access 24 hours a week to RTSH programs and RTSH will have the same access to our programming,” said Mr. Ahmetxhekaj.
He said that within this cooperation, the journalists of both media will have direct connections and will also share the events that are requested by the news or programming units.
“This collaboration has not been in this form until now and I am very happy that we managed to finalize it in record time,” added Mr. Ahmetxhekaj.
In this meeting, the two television CEO-s agreed on the implementation of future projects, and to further deepen the cooperation between the two largest public media in Albania and Kosova.
