Rutte from Prishtina on Dialogue: Both Sides Must Compromise

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reaffirmed the alliance’s support for the normalization process between Kosova and Serbia, emphasizing the need for mutual concessions.
“To advance this dialogue, both sides must make compromises. This requires difficult decisions, but normalization fosters greater stability and long-term security for the entire region. This is the message I will continue to stress to all parties,” Rutte stated on Tuesday at a press conference with Kosova’s President, Vjosa Osmani.
He underscored NATO’s long-term commitment to Kosova’s security. “My presence here today is a clear demonstration of that commitment. NATO has consistently supported peace and stability in the Western Balkans. KFOR liaison teams continue to assist other security institutions. A more secure region means greater security for NATO as well. We will maintain our role, working in coordination with the police and EULEX,” Rutte added.
