Scholz: EU Complete Only with Western Balkan States

The European Union is complete only with the Western Balkan states, stated German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today while presenting the procedures for the Balkan summit within the framework of the so-called Berlin Process.

“The future is in Europe,” he insisted.

During this summit, Scholz praised Kosovo for its success in CEFTA and urged Serbia and Kosovo to overcome their differences for their European future, according to DW.

Scholz acknowledged the progress of the Western Balkan countries in regional cooperation, particularly highlighting Kosovo’s contribution and congratulating it on recent achievements within the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

“I want to congratulate Kosovo for the contribution it has recently made. The diplomacy of the CEFTA agreement is a significant achievement for regional cooperation,” emphasized Scholz.

The Chancellor announced the signing of two important documents that will ease the lives of people in the region.

“We will sign two documents that will facilitate the daily lives of people. A new action plan for the regional common market and an agreement for access to educational opportunities that will enhance student mobility,” he stated.
