SEECP gathers in Thessaloniki under the lead of Nikos Dendias, present in the summit, Pm Rama and Chancellor Scholz

The Southeast European Co-operation Process (SEECP) Summit is being held today (June 10th) in Thessaloniki, with the Presidents of Serbia, Slovenia, Moldova, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prime Ministers of Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Croatia, while Turkey will be represented by the Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs. According to tovima.gr, at 10:30, the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the SEECP countries has started, which will be chaired by the head of Greek diplomacy, Nikos Dendias, where the draft text of the joint statement is expected to be approved by Leaders Summit. After the meeting of the foreign ministers, a lunch will follow. Afterwards, the Greek Foreign Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Tania Fajon.
The President of the European Council Charles Michel will also take part in the proceedings of the Summit, which will be chaired by Nikos Dendias, while the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will also take part in the lunch that will follow. The statement to be adopted and announced after the Leaders Summit focuses on eight topics.
The participants will emphasize their commitment “to strengthen the European perspective of the region” and to their common European future. At the same time, the need to ensure energy security in the region and diversify energy sources through “LNG gas stations and pipeline interconnections” is expected to be emphasized, the article said. The statement is expected to focus on security issues, in light of “growing challenges and new threats to security and stability” in the region.
