Seminar for Albanian Language Teachers in the Diaspora Opens in Kosovo

The 19th nationwide seminar for teachers of the Albanian language and culture in the diaspora has opened in Kosovo. Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro described the event as the most important annual gathering dedicated to teaching Albanian abroad.
The Ministries of Education of Albania and Kosovo jointly organize the seminar. This year, participants focus on motivating diaspora students to learn Albanian and preserve their national identity.
More than 200 Albanian language teachers, researchers, education experts and institutional representatives are taking part in the event.
During the seminar, participants will exchange experiences, share successful practices and discuss new ideas for improving Albanian-language education abroad.
Meanwhile, Albania has started distributing textbooks for the 2026–2027 school year in 15 countries with large Albanian communities. The government considers the programme a key step in supporting Albanian language and culture among children living outside the country.
Furthermore, the Albanian government will fund and distribute more than 5,800 educational packages this year.
As a result, students and teachers in the diaspora will receive textbooks free of charge.
