The US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, reaffirmed support for the Open Balkans regional initiative.

He again demanded the inclusion of all countries in the region and their integration into the European Union.

“We support all markets, the Open Balkans as long as it is focused on European integration, will be open to all countries.
70 percent of the Balkan economy is connected to Europe, while the rest is also connected to the region. These two processes must participate in the same framework,” he said.

Escobar added that “The Open Balkans is not the only initiative we support, we support all other initiatives that unite us.
