Serbian Dinar/ The meeting between the chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia is being held today in Brussels

The next meeting between the chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia will be held this Thursday (April 4) in Brussels to discuss the regulation of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) regarding the ban on the use of the Serbian dinar since February 1.
A day earlier, President Albin Kurti, during his visit to North Mitrovica, made it clear that in today’s meeting in Brussels, the chief negotiators could not negotiate regarding the CBK regulation.
“There is a decision, a regulation of the CBK and we are here as a government to assist. For this reason, my deputy, Besnik Bislimi, cannot negotiate about that regulation. Only if there is a consequence that nobody wants, then let’s see what we can do to have a smooth and fast transition,” said Kurti.
Meanwhile, the EU envoy, Miroslav Lajčák, wrote on Facebook that they will work to find a solution regarding the decision to ban the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo.
The last meeting between the two chief negotiators, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petković, was held on March 25, but without any concrete results on this issue.
Serbia seeks Kosovo to postpone the implementation of the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo, while Prishtina insists on its right. Both parties have also submitted proposals to resolve the “stalemate” between them.
