The Shiroka–Zogaj road along Lake Shkodër forms part of Albania’s efforts to improve tourism infrastructure. The government investment strengthens links between tourism offerings in Albania and Montenegro. It also facilitates travel between the two countries.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the road on Monday morning. He described the route as a journey between the lake and the mountain. The 6.5-kilometre road forms part of wider infrastructure improvements in the area. The first 4.5 kilometres expand the existing road along Lake Shkodër.

Meanwhile, the Shiroka–Zogaj road-segment and the bypass in central Zogaj form two important links for local traffic and access. The project also aims to support tourism and economic development. It will improve infrastructure links for local communities and strengthen Zogaj’s role as a tourism and economic corridor.
