On January 19, 1900, Skënder Luarasi was born. He was the son of the renowned patriot Petro Nini Luarasi.

Following his father’s example, Skënder dedicated his life to the national cause. He began his literary work at the age of 17. Throughout his career, he worked as a teacher, publicist, journalist, translator, playwright, and editor for several publications.

Furthermore, Luarasi initiated the founding of the Writers’ League. He served on its leadership until November 1949. In addition, he held the position of deputy from 1946 to 1950.

He left behind numerous scientific, social, and national works. His monographs include studies of monumental figures in Albanian history and literature, such as Isa Boletini, Ismail Qemali, the Qiriazi sisters, and Migjeni.

In recognition of his work, Luarasi received the “Order of the Flag” in 1960 and the “Honor of the Nation” in 1996 for his outstanding patriotic, anti-fascist, democratic, educational, and literary contributions.

He passed away on April 27, 1982.
