Sotiraq Bratko, one of Korça’s most loved actors and a holder of the “Grand Master” title, celebrates his birthday today. His talent, humor, and simplicity made him a key figure in the city’s artistic life.

Bratko was born on 8 December 1951 in Korça. He grew up with a strong passion for art. After graduating from the Higher Institute of Arts, he joined the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theatre, where he quickly stood out. He brought warmth, humor, and sincerity to every role.

He gained national fame with the role of Tirka in Zonja nga qyteti, a character that still resonates with Albanian audiences. Throughout his career, he played more than 70 roles in theater and 18 roles in film.

For several years, Bratko lived in Greece, but he never left art behind. When he returned to Korça, he immediately returned to the stage and proved that passion endures.

He received the honorary title “Grand Master” for his lifelong contribution to Albanian theater and cinema.

Today, Korça remembers him as an actor who gave the city pride and artistic dignity. He gifted audiences laughter, emotion, and authentic art.
