Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on a 4-day tour to the Balkans

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is paying a four-day visit to the countries of the Western Balkans, and on Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30, he will be in Belgrade. In the following days, Sanchez will visit Sarajevo, Mostar, Podgorica, Skopje and Tirana.

One of the issues that will be in focus is of course the enlargement of the European Union. During the meeting of EU leaders in Brussels at the end of June, Sanchez decided to “reactivate, revive and revitalize the enlargement process” for the countries of the Western Balkans.
This will be the first visit of a Spanish Prime Minister to Serbia after several decades.

Pristina will not be on the agenda of the Spanish Prime Minister because Spain is one of the five member countries of the European Union that did not recognize Kosovo’s independence.
