The Speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali, commemorated Saint Teresa and poet Migjeni in a social media post.

She noted that Saint Teresa was born on 26 August 1910, while Migjeni passed away on 26 August 1938. Spiropali described them as two humble yet great figures, linked by the remarkable chain of life and death, cause and effect.

She added that Saint Teresa’s prayers and Migjen’s poetic voices expressed the same cry of great Albanian souls against the world’s injustices. One came from birth, the other from death. Together, they return each 26 August to remind people that where despair and pain exist, consolation and hope also appear.

Spiropali concluded that Saint Teresa and poet Migjeni ignite pride in the great Albanians the country has offered to the world.
