Today, the National Historical Museum honors Sulejman Pasha Delvina, patriot, politician, and key figure in the national cause, on the anniversary of his birth.

Born in Delvinë on October 5, 1871, and passing in Vlorë in 1933, Delvina served as Albania’s Prime Minister in 1920 and was part of Fan Noli’s government in 1924. A graduate of Istanbul’s “Mülkiye” University, he played a central role in defending Albania’s interests at the Paris Peace Conference and led the government formed by the Congress of Lushnja. Delvina supported the fight against foreign and internal threats and contributed to Albania’s diplomatic efforts and territorial integrity. After political exile, he returned to Albania, where he passed away and was buried in his hometown.
