Tajar Zavalani is one of the prominent figures of the Albanian diaspora who made significant contributions to the Albanian state. His contributions span both the patriotic and political fields, as well as the intellectual and literary spheres, particularly through his translations, his manuscript in English “History of Albania”, and his participation in various conferences.

The General Directorate of Archives, through a recent social media post, highlighted Zavalani as a perfect example of patriotic concern. Despite being in exile in London, he continued to keep Albania at the center of his publicist work.

The post emphasizes, “Leaving one’s homeland does not necessarily mean forgetting the roots from which one originates. A perfect example of patriotic concern is the intellectual Tajar Zavalani, who, although in exile in London, kept Albania at the heart of his publicist work.”

Zavalani’s vision for a Western-oriented Albania was shaped by the context of the society of his time. Among his most important works were “History of Albania” and “The Diary”, which conveyed a call to the diaspora for a united Albania.
