Tensions in the north, Lajcak: The new meeting between the chief negotiators of Kosova and Serbia in Brussels

The envoy of the European Union for the Kosova-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has announced that he held a meeting in Bartislava with Besnik Bislimi, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosova to discuss the situation in the north of the country and relations with Serbia.
In a post on social network announced that they agreed on measures to de-escalate the situation in the north, and to continue this process, the EU emissary announced the chief negotiators of Kosova and Serbia, respectively Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic will have a meeting in Brussels.
“In Bratislava I held important bilateral discussions with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Kosova and the chief negotiator of Kosova Besnik Bislimi. Our conversation focused on the de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosova, in accordance with the EU27 statement of June 3, and work towards the implementation of all the agreements of the Dialogue. I am glad that we agreed on the first steps towards this goal. After returning to Brussels, among other things, I welcomed the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosova Memli Krasniqi for an exchange of views and prepared the meeting the next round of chief negotiators in Brussels,” writes Lajçak.
The government of Kosova has accepted the EU demands, reducing the police presence in municipal facilities in the north, while it also expressed readiness to hold early elections in 4 municipalities in the north.
