“Terminal, Attention, Attention!” closes Europe Week in Shkodër, EU Ambassador Gonzato highlights citizens’ contribution

TIRANA, May 18 – Europe Week concludes in Shkodër. The three-day event “Terminal: Attention, Attention!” transforms the former railway station into an art and reflection space. The programme closes the initiative in Albania.

Artists, officials and cultural contributors gather at the disused station. The event highlights reuse of inactive infrastructure for cultural activity.

EU Ambassador to Albania Silvio Gonzato attends the event. Infrastructure and Energy Minister Enea Karakaçi joins him. Representatives of the national railway company also attend.

Gonzato describes railway stations as symbols of departure and migration. He links them to the experience of hundreds of thousands of Albanians who left the country. He says many have returned. He says many will continue to return. He stresses the role of citizens in shaping Albania’s future and EU path.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the national railway company presents infrastructure plans. He says he expects a railway link between Tirana, Shkodër and Montenegro by 2030.

Earlier, singer Eda Zari and journalist Eda Elbasani initiate the project “Terminal: Attention, Attention!”. They work with artists and contributors. The project transforms the unused station into a space for dialogue, reflection and discussion on rail transport revival.
