Most of the songs were pure propaganda of the time, lyricism was called sentimental, words of love were considered as failed poetic exclamation failed and imitations. The three winning songs were according to the new style of social realism. The winner of the first prize was the song “Free Eagle”, sung by Vaçe Zela, composed by Pjetër Gaci, lyrics by Ismail Kadare.
