The Albanian army towards Kosovo after the floods/ Rama: To support severely affected residents

Some forces and equipments of the Armed Forces are stationed in Kukës to be ready and to intervene in Kosovo if there will be a deterioration of the situation due to floods.

The news was announced by the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, who also shared a video on Facebook.

“Forces and equipments from the Armed Forces have been deployed in Kukës, in readiness to support the residents of some of the municipalities in Kosovo, which have been affected by floods as a result of heavy rains in recent days. Ready to intervene in coordination with the Kosovo authorities, in case the situation worsens. With our brothers in good and difficult days”, writes Peleshi.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has posted on his Facebook page images of the heavy vehicles of the Albanian army heading towards Kosovo.

“The troops and our equipments of the Armed Forces, to support the residents of some of the municipalities in Kosovo, which have been severely affected by the floods, as a result of the heavy rainfalls”, says Rama.

Due to heavy rainfalls several cities in Kosovo faced flooding. Skenderaj is reported to be the most affected city by the floods. The local authorities have declared a state of emergency. There have also been problems in Vushtri, Peja and in some other areas of the country.
