The European Union has invited political leaders in Kosovo and Serbia to immediately put an end to inflammatory rhetoric and act responsibly. The EU has expressed concern about the statements in which war and conflict are mentioned, and has added that “Political leaders will be responsible for any escalation of the situation in the region”.
That statement was issued on August 14 by the spokesperson, Peter Stano.

“The recent increase in inflammatory rhetoric by the officials of Kosovo and Serbia, in particular the statements about the war and the conflict in the Western Balkans, are of great concern. “High politicians from both sides will be held responsible for any escalation that could lead to any increase of tensions and potentially violence in the region,” the statement said.

It states that both parties must “immediately end hostilities between them and inflammatory statements, as well as act responsibly”.
