Today, the National Historical Museum commemorated Milto Sotir Gurra, patriot, writer and publicist, who was born on May 16, 1884 in Marjan i Opari.

Milto Sotir Gurra published the magazines “Sparkle”, “Zekthi”, “Childhood” and wrote the works: “Narration”, “Maid of Highlands”, ” Albania’s renaissance”, the poetic volume “Desire”, etc. Also, he translated many great world writers. He spent the most creative years of his life abroad, first in Odesa by the Black Sea, and then in America, Istanbul and Sofia.

He actively collaborated with many national and literary press bodies in exile, often under the pseudonyms Nomadhi, Gjon Zeza. A collection of twenty-two of these stories was published under the title “Wounds of immigration”, Tirana 1938. Milto Sotir Gurra, like Mitrush Kuteli later, translated Russian literature. He died in Tirana in 1972.
