Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has warned of new developments regarding the issue of the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction zones between Albania and Greece.

In an interview with the Greek media, Dendias stated that within the year 2023, there will be progress by the governments of the two countries on the issue of the sea and its addressing at the Hague Court.

Dendias further informed that the Albanian government is preparing to send the document to the President, so that the Albanian negotiating group can start discussions with the Greek side on the reference of the Hague issue regarding the sea issue.

On October 20, 2020, Albania confirmed that it has agreed with Greece to refer to the Court of The Hague, to resolve the issue of delimitation of maritime zones between the two countries, the review of which at the international court in The Hague was confirmed during the visit to Tirana of to the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Dendias.
