The Assembly of Kosovo approved the Law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kosovo and the Council of Ministers of Albania on the implementation of customs facilities and control of entry / exit of goods.

The draft law on this agreement was initially approved at the 56th meeting of the Government of Kosovo, on January 26, 2022.

“The Draft Law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on the implementation of customs facilities and / or control of entry / exit of goods, was approved at the 56th meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo with decision No.02 / 56 dated 26.01.2022 ”.

This Law aims to ratify the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on the implementation of customs facilities.

During January, the Government of Albania has approved the draft law of the agreement between the Republic of Albania and that of Kosovo on the implementation of customs facilities and control of entry and exit of goods.

The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj announced that, “the cooperation agreement that we approved today between the governments of Albania and Kosovo aims to implement mutual facilities in customs procedures and control of entry and exit of goods.”

According to her, this is an agreement signed at the joint meeting between the two governments in November last year, while today this agreement goes to Parliament in order to facilitate trade between our two countries by recognizing all licenses located at customs points, unifying controls of only one country, reducing control time.

Ibrahimaj said that, “the agreement envisages the opening of the Kosovo customs point, in the port of Durrës and the facilities that it will bring. This agreement also recognizes some protocols that will pave the way for the opening of other Kosovo customs points in the Republic of Albania “.
