The meeting of the two governments, Rama in Skopje: Today we finalize a series of agreements and memoranda

Prime Minister Edi Rama has arrived in Skopje, where a meeting between the governments of Albania and North Macedonia will take place. Through a post on social networks, the head of government says that a series of intergovernmental agreements and memorandums between the two countries will be finalized today.
“And from Skopje, where we will hold a meeting of the two governments and finalize a series of agreements and intergovernmental memorandums Albania – North Macedonia, I wish you a good week”, writes Rama.
The two governments return to joint meetings after 5 years. The last time, it was Albania that welcomed the Republic of North Macedonia government in Pogradec. It is learned that about 20 agreements and memoranda are expected to be signed. There will be an agreement for the creation of joint task forces in the field of security, a protocol for the implementation of joint border controls at the Qafe-Thane/Kjafasan crossing point.
There will be a cooperation program between the two Ministries of Education for cooperation in the field of education and science for a period of 3 years, while the rest will be memoranda of understanding for digital transformation, for social policies and child protection, memoranda that will be signed almost for each department.
Agreements of this nature, have also been signed by Albania and North Macedonia, as part of the Open Balkan initiative, but in this case they are tripartite agreements where the authorities of Serbia are also engaged.
The agreements will be signed after the end of the speeches of the two prime ministers and the discussions of all the cabinet members, which are scheduled to be open to the media.
