“The Nutcracker” Brings Christmas Magic to TKOB

Christmas arrived early at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet (TKOB) in Tirana.
The stage sparkled with trees, gifts, happy children, and the Snow King and Queen. An army of mice tried to spoil the fun. Audiences enjoyed Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” live in action.
The performance was added to the schedule only a few days ago. Tickets sold out in record time.
Tchaikovsky created the ballet during a difficult personal period. Despite the challenges, he composed a timeless Christmas masterpiece.
The story takes place in Germany, on Christmas Eve. Clara and Fritz receive gifts from their uncle, Drosselmeyer, including a magnificent Nutcracker doll. When Fritz breaks it, Drosselmeyer repairs it and gives it to Clara.
That night, Clara dreams of a fantastic adventure. The room comes to life. The mice attack, but the Nutcracker becomes a brave soldier. With Clara, he defeats the Mouse King. The Nutcracker transforms into a handsome prince and takes Clara to the Magical Kingdom of Sweets. The Sugar Plum Fairy hosts a grand dance celebration in their honor.
Clara wakes up hugging her Nutcracker. She remembers a magical and unforgettable night.
The TKOB production featured soloists, the ballet troupe, TKOB Choir, White Voices Choir, and the TKOB Symphony Orchestra. Choreography was by Edi Blloshmi, and costumes by Edlira Qyshka.
“The Nutcracker” brought joy, wonder, and holiday spirit to families and children in Tirana.
