Rikard Ljarja, actor, director and screenwriter, passed away three years ago.

Ljarja was born on April 1, 1943 in Shkodër. In 1960, he finished high school and in 1965 he graduated from the “Aleksandër Moisiu” High School of Acting in Tirana.

After graduation, he worked for 8 consecutive years as an actor of the theater “Migjeni” in Shkodër. From 1973 to 1996 he was an actor, screenwriter and director of films produced by Kinostudio. From 1996 to 2002, when he retired, he served as artistic director at Albanian Public Television.

The charismatic actor, the performer of many roles, has remained in the public’s memory as the leneman Deda in “White roads”, the teacher Dritan Shkabaj in “Commissioner of Light” or Skenderi in “Silent Duel”.

Rikard Ljarja still remains one of the most loved actors by the public.
