Prime Minister Edi Rama has described the tragedy that happened in an elementary school in Serbia as a sad event, where the security guard and 8 children were killed, while 7 others were injured.

While expressing his condolences to the families of the victims and the Serbian people for the incident, Rama wished the injured a speedy recovery.

“It is extremely sad to hear about today’s indiscriminate shooting at a school in Belgrade. My deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims, as well as to the Serbian people and authorities. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this tragic event”, writes Rama on Twitter.

8 children and a security guard were killed after a shooting at an elementary school in Belgrade. Six other students and a teacher were injured, while the police arrested a 14-year-old student of this school as the perpetrator.

The police spokesman says the attacker planned the incident a month ago. The suspect had a list of children he wanted to kill and planned in detail which classes he would go to first. The motive why the 14-year-old committed this tragedy is not yet known.

For the tragedy, the Serbian government declared three days of mourning starting from Friday May 5 to May 7.
