After 3 years of detention, in the Special Court in The Hague, the trial against the former leaders of the KLA, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, accused of war crimes, begins today.

The Office of the Specialized Prosecutor will have 5 hours available to present the opening statement and the charges against the former leaders of the KLA, and then the defense attorney of defendants takes the floor.

The defense lawyers of the accused also came to the session. The first to appear before the Hague court was the lawyer of former president Hashim Thaçi, Gregory Kehoe, and that of former head-parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli, Ben Emmerson.

During April 3, 4 and 5, it is expected that all opening statements and submissions will be made by the defense lawyers of the accused in The Hague, and then the witnesses will be called.

The day before, in support of them, the “March for Justice” was organized in Prishtina to support the KLA Four and their just fight in liberating the country and resisting against ethnic cleansing.
