The well-known Cinema operator of Albanian cinematography, Pëllumb Kallfa has passed away at the age of 77. The news was announced by the National Center of Cinematography.

Pëllumb Kallfa was a cinematographer of chronicle, documentary and feature movies. He was born in Tirana in 1945 and was the son of the well-known photographer and one of the first chroniclers of Albanian cinematography, Mehmet Kallfa.

Pëllumb Kallfa finished his higher studies at the University of Tirana. He started to work in cinema as an assistant and later he was involved in the shooting of newsreels and documentary movies. He made his first documentary in 1971 “More meat for the people”.

In total, he shot about 25 documentary movies. His camera was distinguished especially in the movies: “Basketball player no. 10”, “Tourist Albania 1972”, “Next to the first steps”, “Using nuclear radiation 1974”, etc.

In total, he shot 22 feature movies, mostly with well-known directors. For his work, he was awarded with the honorary title of Merited Artist.

Other movies include: Poppies on the Walls, General Gramophone, My Wedding Toast, A Little Delay, Tale from the Past, Spring Didn’t Come Alone, Years of Waiting etc..
